The speaker of the lecture was obstetrician and she talked about the importance of having sex and contraception. This section reminds me of the lecture. According to the book, some students may think “life is cheap”. For instance, they do not use condoms or other methods of birth controls. It is clear that teenagers should not have sex without contraception unless they want to get pregnant. I heard that some teenagers have sex without contraception although they do not want to get pregnant.
I think most of the reason for that is on the boy. It is natural that boy uses condom for contraception. Condom is the useful and we can get it easily. Today, we can buy it at drugstore, convenience store, and vending machine in Japan. It is also cheap compared to other goods of contraception. Therefore, the person who has to think contraception first is boy. If there is love between the relationship, boy have to think it. If boy really love his girlfriend, boy have to think it. However, people do not get nervous about having sex. Sex is not unworthy, but it is necessary for love. Sex is a one of communication techniques for lovers. People should have right knowledge of sex before they have sex.

Bullying Problem and Friendship

Nowadays, it is a big problem that some students commit suicide because of bullying at school. Why do students bully? I will mention about it. There are some reasons why do people persecute; Japanese society place a special emphasis on group, there can be complex friendship.
First, Japanese people want to make groups so that they do not want to be taken out of the group. Shortly, Japanese people think that “harmony” is important. For example, students make some groups in school, but there are a few students who cannot join the group. He or she is isolated, so other students think he or she is not their friend. As time passes, other students think he or she is a hateful person, so they bully. Although, there are some other groups, they do not want to help him or her because they think they would be bullied if they helped the student. They close their eyes to it. It causes a vicious circle and the student commit suicide when he or she cannot deal with it by oneself. It is clear that Japanese people put a great emphasis on group and it becomes one reason for committing suicide.
Secondly, there is a complex friendship for the reason why people bully. Every people do not want to do quarrel because it leads to break friendship. For instance, there are two students who are good friends. One day, they quarrel about something. After that, their relation get ugly, they do not talk and ignore each other. Of course, they join same group, but there is a rank in each group. One student is better rank than another student. Better rank person want to exclude the other, and it become a bullying. The other student comes to be isolated, and he or she does not have a solution. In the end, he or she discovers one solution, committing suicide. There is some bullying which is caused by friendship.
To sum up, bullying is caused by group and quarrel among friends. There may be no people who want to help the student because they want not to be involved. Anyway, it is essential for the student to help him or her. Committing suicide from bullying is one of the killings. Government has to think about it more seriously and help the student who would commit suicide as many as possible.

School

In this chapter, school in the life of the teen, there are several differences between Japan and America. What I interested in is school rule of Japan and America. Some years ago, teacher in Japan hit children who broke the school rule and now, children are punished if they broke the school rule. Many schools place a special emphasis on school rules. Why do schools do this?
First, the time of that students do something together is long in Japan. Many schools cherish the group of harmony. In Japanese society, it is important for everyone to cooperate with people. For example, a man who can not do something together is left alone, especially in company or school. People want to solve the problem together and think it is the best way. Therefore, harmony is treasured in Japan. However, the harmony is broken if there is no rule. The rule is important for Japanese people to make a good condition of harmony.
Second, schools want their students to have a sense of drawing a line between public and private matters. In the future, student will be adult and go into society. In society, there are a lot of rules. People who can not keep the rule will finally go to prison in society. Schools do not want children go to there. Therefore, school has rules. To sum up, schools have their own rules because of harmony and Japanese society’s rule. Students have to keep their rules. Students may think school rule ridiculous and do not want to keep. However, it is important to grow as human.

Academic Pressures on Children in Japan

In Japan, some mother tries hard to educate their children and make them study hard to pass the entrance exam. They are called “kyoiku mama (education obsessed mother)” in Japan. They press their children in academic studies. Why do they press their children so hard? There is two reasons, Japanese people’s thought about academic background and birth rate.
First of all, Japanese people place a special emphasis on academic back grounds, and it is essential for children to be success in the future. Japanese people think that people who go to famous university or other educational institution will be warranted being good after graduation. For example, people who go to Tokyo university which is thought the greatest university in Japan can take jobs easily and can have good careers. Moreover, most of Japanese politicians graduated from famous university. It is obvious that educational back grounds are so important thing for Japanese people and it is necessary for mothers to be “kyoiku mama”.
Second, the birth rate in Japan gradually decreasing, and the society is becoming declining birth rate. The statistics shows that women bear average 1.29 children on their life. It is so small figure to keep population of Japan. There were more than three children in one family, and mother could not deal with all of them so hard. However, there are a lot of families who has only one child. The family’s mother can deal with him or her. Therefore, mother educates only one child to be success in the future. It can be said that family style contributes to press their children.
To sum up, “koiku mama” is one of the Japanese society’s productions, Japanese thought of educational back grounds and declining birthrate. It is inevitable for Japanese people to be hard in education because of Japanese society system. However, parents must respect their children’s will and support them in another side. If not, their children feel parents’ pressure to be mentally stressed.

Thank you for the comments!

Thank you for the comments!

I'm glad to see your comments.
I will answer your questions.

Now, I'm interested in business.
